FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Portland, Maine (September 21, 2018) – New England Fights (NEF) will hold its final mixed-martial-arts event of 2018, “NEF 36: Battle for the Gold,” on Saturday, November 17 at Aura in Portland, Maine. Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur women’s fight to the card. Glory Watson (1-0) is scheduled to meet Megan Rosado (0-0) at a catchweight of 140-pounds.
Glory Watson made her cage debut last June at “NEF 34″ in Portland. She was victorious that evening, submitting Chelsea Tucker (0-3) with an arm-triangle in the first round. Watson is a member of Young’s MMA based in Bangor, Maine. The fight with Rosado will be nearly two full weight classes above Watson’s natural flyweight division, leaving her at a size disadvantage, but Watson is eager to enter the cage for her sophomore effort nonetheless.
“I have been training nonstop since my debut in June 2018,” said Watson. “Fighting up two weight classes is going to be a challenge, but in this sport, you step up and take every fight you can. This will be a fight that you won’t want to miss!”
Megan Rosado will make her MMA debut on November 17. In doing so, she will be the first female competitor to emerge from Evolution Athletix. The brand new, comprehensive, state-of-the-art, training facility officially opened earlier this year to much fanfare in the booming Southern Maine fitness community. The 14,000 square foot gym is centrally located just off Route 1 in Saco. With top-rate instructors behind her, Rosado says that she will be looking for an early finish of Watson.
“I’m very excited to finally step inside the cage at NEF this November and be the first female out of my gym – Evolution Athletix – to showcase my skills,” Rosado said. “In my gym, we train to be the best and that’s exactly what I will be! My goal is to go in there and put on a show you can’t possibly forget. Submission or knockout, I’m definitely hunting for the early finish! I’ve walked through the fire to get here and I promise you this, as god is my witness, you will remember my name.”
NEF’s next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 36: Battle for the Gold,” will see the company make its return to Aura in Portland, Maine. The event is scheduled to take place Saturday, November 17, 2018 with a bell time of 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now at www.AuraMaine.com.
