FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Bangor, Maine (January 11, 2019) – New England Fights (NEF) will hold its next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 37: Sub Zero,” on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. Earlier today, the promotion announced the addition of an amateur women’s featherweight fight to the card. Catie Denning (1-1) will return to action against Amanda Bennett (0-0) at a fight weight of 145-pounds.
The bout will be Denning’s third in the NEF cage. She debuted in February 2018 with a unanimous decision victory over Chelsea Tucker (1-3). Denning returned in November, dropping a unanimous decision to Taylor Thompson (3-0). She will be looking to bounce back from that loss on February 1. Denning trains with Young’s MMA in Bangor. The fight with Bennett will be the closest Denning has ever fought to her hometown of Bucksport, Maine, just miles south of Bangor.
“Fighting in Bangor has been on the top of my list since I started competing,” said Denning. “Not only will it feel good to have the Bangor fans, but also my nearby hometown of Bucksport will be there cheering. I’m coming off a hard fought loss, so I’m looking for a win this time around. This is a fight you don’t want to miss!”
Amanda Bennett will make her MMA cage debut at “NEF 37.” Bennett represents First Class MMA of Brunswick, Maine where she trains with previous Denning opponent Chelsea Tucker. Bennett will have the opportunity to avenge the loss suffered by Tucker to Denning one year earlier.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to fight for NEF and make my MMA debut,” said Bennett. “I respect hard work and dedication of all athletes. I’m grateful for my coaches and team. I accept and look forward to new challenges.”
NEF’s next mixed-martial-arts event, “NEF 37: SUB ZERO,” will take place on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine with a bell time of 8 pm. Tickets are on-sale now at www.CrossInsuranceCenter.com.
