FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Westbrook, Maine (February 7, 2020) – New England Fights (NEF) will present its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF 42: Symphony of Destruction,” this Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Merrill Auditorium in Portland, Maine. Earlier today, the fight promotion held the event weigh-ins at Westbrook Community Center in neighboring Westbrook, Maine.
The evening’s main event is still on despite Manny Bermudez (14-2) missing championship weight by 3.8 pounds. His opponent, Bruce Boyington (19-11), came in under the championship limit of 155 pounds. Per NEF title fight rules, Boyington can still win the lightweight championship tomorrow night, while Bermudez is no longer eligible to win the gold.
