FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Portland, Maine (October 11, 2022) – New England Fights (NEF) returns to Aura in Portland, Maine on Saturday, November 12, 2022, with its next mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event “NEF 50.” Earlier today the fight promotion announced the addition of an amateur cruiserweight bout to the card. Cody “Dirty” Dular (1-0) is scheduled to meet Robert Gray (0-0) at a fight weight of 225 pounds.
Cody Dular made his amateur MMA debut last summer at “NEF 48” in Portland. He defeated Nick McInnis (0-1) via technical knockout just over a minute into the second round. The fight with Gray will see Dular drop from the heavyweight division down to cruiserweight. He represents Team Benson.
“My opponent looks pretty tough,” said Dular. “I’m excited for a competitive fight. I’m gonna go out there and give it my all and show the fans what I’m made of and give this guy a good fight for his debut. May the best man win! I’m hoping to perform and look as good as my mustache.”
Robert Gray is set to make his amateur debut in the fight with Dular. He is trained by longtime member of the regional MMA community, Garth Krane. Krane competed in the early days of New England MMA. Gray fights out of Eddington, Maine.
“I’m excited to make my amateur debut for NEF,” said Gray. “I’ve watched this organization grow and NEF has a lot of impressive fighters. I would like to thank the promotion for giving me this opportunity. As far as Cody goes, I have no bad blood towards the guy. He wrestled some, but I’m not worried about that at all. This is my chance to shine and impose my will on him. This is just a step to get where I want to go. I’ve got the best coach for this fight. Garth Krane is getting me well prepared to dominate my opponent.”
“NEF 50” is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 at Aura in Portland, Maine. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with first fight taking place at 7 p.m. Tickets are available now at TicketMaster.com.
